A made-to-measure curved stairlift navigating a bend in a Plymouth home.
Overview
A curved stairlift is the right answer for any staircase that isn't a single straight flight. Unlike a straight lift — which uses an off-the-shelf aluminium rail cut to length — a curved stairlift needs a completely bespoke rail, laser-measured to your exact staircase and bent in the factory to follow every turn, half-landing and change of pitch. That's what allows a single seat to glide smoothly from the bottom of your stairs all the way to the top landing without you ever having to stand, transfer or change lifts halfway.
We've been fitting curved stairlifts across Plymouth, Devon and East Cornwall for over 40 years, and there are very few domestic staircases we haven't tackled — from narrow Victorian terraces in Stoke and Mutley, to half-landing 1930s semis in Plympton and Plymstock, to split-level modern conversions in Saltash, Ivybridge and Tavistock. Every survey is carried out by a real engineer (not a commission-led salesperson), and every quote is fixed in writing with no hidden extras.
Lead times for a brand-new bespoke curved rail are typically 2–3 weeks from survey to installation, and the install itself is usually completed in a single day. If you need something sooner, we hold a regular stock of fully curved stairlifts in our Plymouth workshop — many of which can be modified to fit your staircase in a fraction of the time and cost of a new build.
