Bruno stairlifts in Plymouth, Devon & East Cornwall

Bruno Stairlifts in Plymouth

Bruno is one of the most respected stairlift manufacturers in the world — American-made, quietly engineered, and backed by some of the longest warranties in the industry. We chose Bruno as our primary brand for a simple reason: in 15+ years of installing and repairing stairlifts across the South West, Bruno units break down less often and last longer than any other brand we've worked with.

Quick answer

Stairlifts Plymouth is an independent local specialist for Bruno stairlifts across Plymouth, Devon and East Cornwall. We supply, fit, service and repair the full Bruno range — including the Elan and Elite straight rails and the Elite curved rail — using Bruno-trained engineers and genuine Bruno parts. Stairlifts Plymouth — who we are

Meet the team behind Stairlifts Plymouth and learn how we help families across Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall.

As independent local specialists we're not tied to any one manufacturer, but the Bruno range covers the vast majority of Plymouth homes — from a straight run of 12 steps to a complex two-turn curved staircase with a half-landing. If Bruno isn't right for your stairs we'll tell you honestly and recommend an alternative.

Every Bruno lift we install is fitted by our own Bruno-trained engineers (never subcontracted), serviced annually with genuine Bruno parts, and covered by a same-day breakdown response across Plymouth.

Which Bruno stairlift is right for your Plymouth home?

For a standard straight staircase we most often recommend the Bruno Elan or the Bruno Elite straight rail. The Elan is Bruno's mid-range straight lift — quiet, dependable, and priced very competitively for the level of engineering. The Elite is a step up: it carries more weight (up to 400 lbs / 181 kg), has a slightly wider seat and a smoother start/stop, and is our go-to for taller or larger users.

For a staircase that turns, has a half-landing, or curves around a wall, the Bruno Elite curved rail is the answer. It's a bespoke rail made to a millimetre-accurate survey of your exact staircase, powder-coated to your chosen finish, and delivered typically 2–4 weeks after we take the survey.

At the free home survey we'll measure the stairs, listen to who's using the lift, ask about how you use the landing, and recommend the model that genuinely fits — not the most expensive one on the price list.

Bruno servicing and repairs in Plymouth

Bruno lifts are famously reliable, but every stairlift benefits from an annual safety service. Ours covers battery health, motor and gearbox, safety sensors, seat belt, swivel mechanism and the rail itself — 30-point check, written report, and a small sticker under the seat so you know when the next one is due.

For repairs, we hold the most common Bruno spares in the van — batteries, chargers, safety edges, remote controls — so most call-outs are fixed on the first visit. We aim to reach any Bruno owner in Plymouth within 24 hours of the call, and same-day where the lift is the only way upstairs.

If you bought your Bruno lift from another supplier — or even from us before we became a full Bruno service partner — we can still service and repair it. There is no obligation to have bought the lift from us.

Why we picked Bruno as our primary brand

The stairlift market in the UK is dominated by two or three big names, and after installing every major brand over the years we settled on Bruno for one reason: they break less. Fewer call-outs mean happier customers, and it means we can offer a genuinely rapid response when something does go wrong — because we're not firefighting a fleet of poorly-built lifts.

Bruno is also unusual in that they build in the USA rather than the Far East, and they use metal components (not plastic) in the load-bearing parts. That shows up over the ten- and fifteen-year mark: a well-maintained Bruno will often outlast the person who bought it.

None of that means Bruno is the only good stairlift, and we'll never dismiss another brand you already own. But if you're buying new and you want the lift with the best chance of quietly working for a decade, Bruno is the honest recommendation.

Common questions

Are you an official Bruno dealer?
Yes — we are an independent Bruno stairlift specialist in Plymouth. Our engineers are Bruno-factory-trained and we fit only genuine Bruno parts.
Do you service Bruno lifts bought from another supplier?
Absolutely. We service and repair any Bruno stairlift regardless of who originally installed it. Call 01752 648599 with the model name and we'll book you in.
How long does a Bruno stairlift last?
With annual servicing, a well-maintained Bruno stairlift typically works reliably for 10–15 years. The rail itself will last far longer — usually only the batteries and moving parts need periodic replacement.
How much does a Bruno stairlift cost in Plymouth?
A Bruno straight stairlift starts from around £1,995 fitted, and a bespoke curved Bruno Elite typically runs from £4,995 depending on the shape of your staircase. See our stairlift cost guide for a full breakdown.
Do you offer other brands as well?
Yes — we can supply and install other major brands on request, but we currently service and repair Bruno in-house. We are actively expanding to cover other major brands for servicing soon.
Is there a Bruno warranty?
Yes — Bruno offers one of the longest manufacturer warranties in the industry, and every lift we install includes our own local Plymouth aftercare on top.
