Our story

Stairlifts Plymouth grew out of More Than Mobility, the independent local mobility shop at 139 Cornwall Street, Plymouth. After four decades helping local families with scooters, wheelchairs and home aids, stairlifts had quietly become the question we were asked most.

So we did what we've always done — built a specialist team of local engineers, partnered with the manufacturers we trust, and made a simple promise: honest advice, fair prices, and aftercare from the same people who fitted your lift.

Today we install, rent and repair stairlifts right across Plymouth, the South Hams, West Devon and East Cornwall — usually within an hour of our Plymouth workshop. We're proud to be the company friends and neighbours recommend.

Who you'll meet

Our surveyors are mobility-trained — most have worked with us for over a decade. They'll visit your home, measure carefully, and explain your options in plain English. No jargon, no pressure.

Our engineers are all directly employed (we never sub-contract). They install every major manufacturer — Stannah, Acorn, Brooks, Bison Bede, Handicare and more — and currently service and repair Bruno stairlifts, with cover for other brands being added.

In the office, you'll likely speak to Sarah or Tom. They'll arrange surveys, answer questions, and book emergency call-outs whenever you need us.
