Who hires a stairlift in Plymouth?
By far the most common reason for renting a stairlift is recovery from a hip replacement or knee replacement. Surgeons typically advise patients to avoid stairs (or to limit weight-bearing) for the first 6–12 weeks, and physio progress varies. A short-term stairlift removes the risk completely and means you can sleep in your own bed and use your own bathroom from the day you come home.
We also hire to families caring for an elderly relative who is recovering from a fall, a stroke, surgery or a hospital stay; to people whose own house is being adapted and need temporary access; and to families who simply want a stairlift in place for a visiting parent or grandparent.
If the need is permanent, hire is usually not the cheapest route — it works out better to buy outright (often a stairlift, which is a fraction of new-price). We'll always tell you honestly which option saves you money.
